Class Setup
Classes are designed specifically for you and your group. Instructors are trained to see students and make necessary corrections, so even in a group each student gets individual attention.
Wear comfortable clothing. You may bring your own mat; however, mats and other props will be provided at no additional cost. Be sure to secure your assets with appropriate undergarments, because alignment yoga involves several inverted poses and stretches. Towels and water bottles are optional.
Alignment is our primary concern. When your body is aligned, your breath and mind are properly aligned. Therefore, you will receive corrections. It is important to consider corrections as a good thing. As human beings, we are not perfect and we are not symmetrical. Proper instruction and corrections enable you to learn your habits and foster better, safer ways of carrying your body so you can avoid the pains to come. It may not hurt now to do something incorrectly, but eventually misalignments may cause issues that could require surgery later in life. Alignment-based yoga is designed to help you prevent that. Therefore, welcome corrections. Leave your ego at the door and keep a beginners mind.
